We're proud to support the communities we build in, partnering with local organisations, schools and community groups to create a stronger, more connected Wellington.

Local Sponsorships

Duncan Commercial Construction is based in Lower Hutt, and we are pleased to provide an active support role to our local community. This includes sponsoring local sports teams and events.

Recent sponsorships include St Bernard’s College 1st XV rugby team, Wheel Blacks, Wellington Ambulance, Wellington Hospitals, and the annual TAKA Trust Golf Tournament. Throughout the year we also support local schools with their general fundraising activities and provide support to local schools to improve their playground facilities.

Gateway Secondary School Workplace Experience

We like to assist local high school students to get real experience of what it is like to work within the construction industry. Not only does it help the students experience what the work entails, but also it shows them the range of careers and specialities that exist within the construction industry.

We hope this motivates many young persons to consider a career in the construction industry, to the point of possibly wanting to join us on an apprenticeship programme when they leave school. Currently we offer this Gateway experience to students from Naenae College, Mana College, Taita College and St Bernards College.
