The construction project of the Te Whiti Park development was completed for the Hutt City Council in 2022; this project is also referred to as the Te Aroha Matauranga development.
The Te Aroha Matauranga development resulted from the extension of an existing community facility to a more extensive site at Te Whiti Park in Waiwhetu, Lower Hutt. The project was to extend the existing public changing rooms and toilets facility, by adding a multi-purpose assembly space with a kitchen and office.
This additional 194m2 space formed the completed site, referred to as Te Aroha Matauranga.
Construction of the additional space needed to match existing features of the initial site.
Building work included the installation of large external aluminium curtain wall joinery and a new operable wall.
